Best to ask first...some people dont' seem to like the official vehicle name of 'Pig'...not really a badge of honor like the 928 'Shark' name.
Now, on the other hand, 'The Porsche Whisperer' might not be a bad choice.

The second one was a cam adjuster fault. According to the tech, this can happen when the oil gets a little dirty and/or starts to break down, usually when an oil change is needed. The oil change light has not yet come on for this vehicle, I was planning to have it changed at the 60K mile service. Looks like I'm getting it changed today!

The two codes were P0011 and P0455.
I did a quick search and found the following descriptions:
They are listed on my paperwork from the dealer as: fuel cap loose and cam position over advanced.
I did a quick search and found the following descriptions:
- "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance
- Evaporative Emission System Leak Detected (large leak)
They are listed on my paperwork from the dealer as: fuel cap loose and cam position over advanced.

Dennis, I've had the CEL at least 3 times in the past and each time it was evap related. Tank vent was replaced, not once, and something else. I can give you exactly what was changed, and the codes if they're on the invoice, once I'm back home on Tue, if it at all matters by that time.

Glad to see you're checking RL while out of town. Vacation for the long weekend?

P0011 is the camshaft error for Bank 1; P0021 is the camshaft error for Bank 2. You can search for those codes here or on Renntech.org. One of the Porsche techs who frequents Renntech.org has commented that P0021 is very common on the V8 engines, and his experience is it's due to a very slight extension in the timing chain and the sensor tolerance is very low.
I usually find P0021 when I do a Durametric scan. My dealer has said the same thing about this code that your dealer said about P0011 - i.e., usually due to dirty oil. I don't go too long between oil changes, however. It's never caused a CEL, and my dealer says not to worry about it.

I owuldnt loose any sleep over p0021. Fault is pretty common, on v8s, The opinions of where this fault comes from......... Ill give you my observations. Cars that have had been serviced every 10k miles dont get the faults, cars that go 20K + between oil changes usualy have that fault. Now heres the thing. 50% of cayennes will have that fault, but I have only seen 3-4 every turn on a cel for it, the fault is in the dme but never trips a light . Usualy see it when the light turns on for something else and see that it is stored.

I'm guessing my light was on because of the gas cap, and the tech noticed the other code. I had gone about 8K miles since my last oil change.

Wife filled up with gas last night. She is positive she put the gas cap on tight, at least three clicks.
CEL is back today. This may be a bigger issue than the cap afterall.

I believe we were discussing the word 'hope' .....
Fortunately, we have TWO Pig Whisperers who, for reasons I don't understand, continue to work as grief counselors in this forum...
Hmmn, Porsche Whisperer, Cayenne Grief Counselor....more choices to replace 'Addict' for them.

When in doubt - blame the wife
All right, here's what I've had on different occasions when CEL was on:
1. Found purge valve faulty/stiff. Replaced valve/vent. Tank vent & line removed & reinstalled.
2. P0456 - for very small evap leak. Gas cap leak. Replaced. (4 months after #1)
3. Emission tank valve failure. Tank vent & line removed & reinstalled (8 months prior to #1)
