Default Alignment for Cayenne S

Hi,

I have driven 70k miles with my cayenne S since buying it new back in 05. I am getting new tires for it next week. How badly does the Cayenne get out of alignment? What do i need to watch for?

Thanks

i have an '06 cS and i've had to get it aligned twice in the last 10k miles. the first time it was just out of alignment, and the second time was right after i got new tires put on. i don't know if its because i have the air suspension or what, but its something i watch out for--only because i'm trying to keep my $300 tires from wearing out early. if your car pulls to one side, or if your tires are wearing out funky, you probably have an alignment issue.

Where do you guys take your Cayenne to get it aligned? Just a local place with a Hunter machine, or back to the dealer? Also, how much is typical cost?

I don't see any reason to believe that a dealer would be better than a good tire shop that has the right equipment and people that know how to use it properly. This work is more a function of what tech works on your car than whether or not there is a Porsche sign on the building. All the latter does is add a couple of hundred bucks to the bill.

i agree. as long as they have competent techs, i'd take it anywhere they can do a 4wheel alignment. i went to ntb. its close to work, and they give you a nice computer print out of where it was before, and after for each wheel (and the tolerances).
a single alignment costs maybe 100-200$, but ntb had some special for 5 years worth of alignments for 4hundred something, so i just did that since these tires are kinda pricey (and some roads around here are crap).
