LED tail lights....
Just saw an ad in GT Porsche from essexracing.co.uk, they have led tail lights for Cayennes for sale if anyone is interested.
Do the new Caynennes have LED tail lights???

The Cayenne (like many other cars) has integrated bulb diagnostic circuitry.
This is possible since the designers know the electrical characteristics of the bulbs installed.
However, LED's have a much different electrical characteristic than an incandescent; hence if LED's are introduced to the circuit, the Cayenne would respond with a "!" "Beep" "Check xxx bulb" warning.
Of course there is a MUCH more colorful history behind the "!", but out respect for the deceased, I will not comment further.

I'm sure that prior to his untimely demise, Larry would cringe every time his Cayenne was low on fuel and the "!" appeared with a chime.
It actually makes me jump a little bit too every time it happens, followed by a "whew... it was only low fuel..."

I was going thru Larry's old stuff and I found THE Maglight flashlights and THE roll of racer's tape.
He was fun to be around...of course not as much fun as sleeping with his widow...
