Default Other spring options?

I noticed that my 06 Cayenne when hitting a dip at high speed will send the truck all over the place.

Is there other options for the spring rate that will keep the truck more stable at highway speeds when hitting a elevation change in the road?

Robin,

The only springs I know of are lowering springs. (ie, H&R) But I don't have any personal experience w/ them. You could also look for an aftermarket sport shock (maybe billstein makes one).

Otherwise, trade that puppy in for a V8 w/ air suspension, that's what I did.

Just exactly what kind of dip @ what speed? I also have a 06 **** without PASM and if anything, I found the car to be very stable @ highway speeds especially in curvy roads. The only gripe I have is on bumpy roads @ city driving speeds.

Btw, just a thought, since your car has tinted taillights and non original wheels/tires. I suspect the previous owners may have had lowered it before? You might want to check if everything was put back correctly.

At highway cruising speed say around 70-80mph if I hit a bridge expansion joint where if the highway have settled down, and the the bridge is higher hitting an uneven elevation change like that will send the truck up in the air with the passengers inside the car almost hitting the roof.

Now, my daily 996 does the same thing along with the old Range Rover, but the Cayenne's elevation change is just magnified.

I don't think the truck has been lowered, or the wheels are aftemarket. I thought they were factory wheels, but just chromed. BTW, it is also very bumpy on bad roads too.

Does this looks like it is lowered?

What you are describing does not sound normal to me. Like I said, the faster it goes, the more stable mine feels. And I do not recall any drama like yours when I hit expansion joint... Too bad I always have the minivan whenever I am in your area, otherwise you can take mine for a spin to see if mine does what you are talking about.

Not sure if it's the angle or the bigger wheels? (20"?) But I have much bigger fender gaps. As far as the wheels you have, I do not think the 20" Sport Design was an option on the Titanium Edition. It was either the standard 19" Painted Wheel or the 20" Sport Techno. And the brake calipers are silver, not red. Anyways, it was just a guess because of the tinted taillights...

I think I figured out what's wrong with the pepper. The previous owner changed the spring to H&R springs. I didn't think to look, took a look under the car today and saw that the springs are H&R. I think that's the problem, I guess I will be on the hunt for some stock springs. I think it is the combination of the stock shocks and the H&R spring not matching which causes this issue. What a mickey mouse mod!!!!

Good to know. I was thinking about the H&R springs for my CS. Never mind. I'll stick with the stock springs. It rides and handles great.

Robin, you should delete this thread and start a new one. "FREE H&R springs - in exchange of stock ones..."

LOL! that's a good one. I searched all over craigslist and ebay and didn't have any luck finding any Cayenne stock springs.
