Aren't they different for every vehicle? I'm not sure how many there are - you should probably take it back to the dealer.

I may be mistaken but I don't think so, I think they're just "triple square" type sockets, at least that's what I remember from taking my wheels off to bleed the brake system. The old style wheel locks/keys had asst. patterns on them but these do not (IF my memory serves correct).

Got it. I thought perhaps they were security locks, with many possible combinations.

The dealer could not help me but charge me to take them off! When I use to work at the dealer back in California there was just one style but, now my friend that works at the dealer in MD tells me there's 100's of different ones.

Bill W. is your a 19 sided bolt ? that is what mine is. It's the same bolts I always had but I just have a different key.

I manage to get a 12 sided 19mm to fit snug but I don't have the ***** to turn it into spaghetti yet has anyone else tried this yet????

There are 20 different ones, each with a different spline pattern. Numbered 50 through 69. Can be ordered by number, so best bet is to stop by the dealer and have them trial-and-error their way until the right number is found.

Interesting, I'll have to look at mine again. I assume you mean the number of spines because I don't remember having to rotate the socket around to line up the thread pattern like I did with the newer "old style" lock socket. (On my '88 the original old style locking nuts had an actual key to release the cover, replaced them with the newer "funky socket head" type early on.)

Correct; number and spacing. It's very subtle, but it's certainly not like the old style locks - the new ones just drop right on.
