Default "Weak" Footwell Heater - Normal?

This is my very first post - please forgive any improprieties

I bought a 2006 Cayenne S a couple months ago, and I'm wondering if my footwell heater issue is "just the way it is" or if I've got a problem.

Even on the highest setting, the airflow into the footwell is barely detectible. It sounds like it's blowing a lot of air, but not much comes out - it's almost like it's clogged or something. Since I'm a woman, my feet are always cold and I do ask a lot from my foot heater. However, this just doesn't seem right.

I recently drove a 2008 Cayenne when mine was in for service, and it provided a very nice blast of warm air.

Any suggestions or advice?

Thank you!

Hey Kellie, a few things to try.
*Direct all air to floor only, (arrow pointing down on the A/C dispaly)
*Close the rear vents if they are open.
* How many miles or on the car (possible very dirty/clogged pollen filter)
* Car still in Warranty? Take it do your dealer, If you live in Denver, I will fix it for you!!

The vents can be broken. I had mine fixed but even after that it never blows a lot down there, just enough

Several people have made comments about this in the past. I think that the design of the Gen 1 Cayenne doesn't blow as much air towards the feet as many people would like. Personally, I haven't noticed a problem with this in my Cayenne. My wife hasn't ever mentioned it either. Sooo... you may find that the way it blows now is as good as it gets!

I think there's a shop in Knightsen that could look at it for you. Try giving them a call.

By the way, you need to post some pics of your ride!

My experience is that's just the way it is, live with it.
I swear I could sit in 5 different cayennes and get 5 different "patterns" of strong and weak out of the air vents. Since they have seat heaters, I'm not too obsessed with the vents.

My 08 Cayenne has excellent heat at the floor but I just drove a 09 GTS and Turbo S for over a week each and both had ****-poor floor heating. The heat also took forever to warm up compared to my car. It seams to be car to car.

Thanks for all your comments. It looks like I might just be stuck with a weak floor heating system. That will be a bummer! And yes, thank goodness for the heated seats!

My other half, MarkD, found a post that the servo (?) can sometimes stop working, decreasing the air flow. Since it's still under warranty, I may take it to the dealer to have it checked. If I learn anything worthwhile, I'll let you all know.

Thanks again,
Kellie
