Default How much does a CTT ECU cost?

Anybody have any idea how much a 05 CTT ECU costs? The reason that I am asking is a long story. I really hope that I don't need one.

Mine was replaced under warranty but IIRC it was close to $5k.

Well might be but I doubt it. I was only going off of what the dealership told me. They don't supply costs on warranty work so I have no records other than replaced at a cost of $0.00. Although after owning Porsche's for so long I have never seen any type of brain sell that cheap.
When you think about it most ECU's for 996TT's etc are in the $950 range used from dismantling houses, ABS and Tiptronic control modules sell for $400+ used why would a new ECU from Porsche cost anything less than 3 times that price.

like I said I might have been fed a load of crap from the dealership to make it look like they did something but $480 sounds way too cheap.

I actually called three different porsche dealers. I simply told that I needed the main ECU for an 05 CTT. I did not give them the part number, just in case I had the wrong number. Each of the dealers individually came up with these numbers. Here are the approx prices-

Suncoast Porsche- $380
Byers Porsche $480
Midwestern Auto Group- I forget however it was between 5 and 6 hundred.

Shows how honest these delaerships can be. I am shocked any electronics for a Porsche is that cheap but that is good to know. BTW I don't use that dealership anymore.

Do you recall if this was a new part or a rebuilt. IIRC they said they could have gotten a refurbished part cheap bu the OE was expensive.

If you have the p/n go to GetPorscheParts.com and you will see what MSRP is and what Tischer Porsche will sell it for. My guess is Sunset would be a little cheaper still than Tischer's price. Just a guess.

I just got the part and it is a new unit. The part is identical to the old ecu.

I tried to check the part number online however it has a bosch part number and not a porsche (955.....) number therefore it was not in their system.
