Hendrick advertised prices
After signing up for something at Parade I get these occasional emails from Hendrick Porsche. They don't bother me, I usually just give them a quick glance and then delete but this one had the link to their Cayenne inventory so I decided to have a look.
Now I've been around for awhile and understand MSRP and "Asking Price" but in this economy and with what we all know is going on with the automotive market it just doesn't make any sense at all to me to list on your web site that you're even "asking" over MSRP for the vehicles you have in inventory. Personally, if I was in the market, after seeing that I seriously doubt I would set foot on that dealer's lot if there were other dealers in my area to choose from. EVERY vehicle they list in their inventory has an "asking price" $1k - $3k OVER the MSRP, that's just ludicrous right now IMHO. I realize they can ask for what they want but it doesn't seem to me to be a wise business decision in this economic climate.

That has to be a mistake. They are asking $2k above msrp for base v6 cayennes. Maybe their website guy accidently flipped msrp for asking on the listings??

Thanks, I was looking for speed yellow but there was a mac brown cayman on the lot which caught my eye. I went back half a dozen times and it came down to mac brown and a atlas grey cayman both about equally priced. Atlas grey is great but I couldn't get over using up $3k in options on a paint color. Mac brown had nav and bose sound so I went that rought. The smaller wheels and black non-s brakes match well with the retro color and cayman curves. I saw a mac brown 911 and thought the 911 lines are too tame even though Porsche has been using the color on print ads quite heavily. Someone in my hood has a mac brown turbo cab, gorgeous.
Back to the topic, after reviewing the listings again I do think it's just a mix up. It probably won't get fixed until Monday.

May very well be a mistake but I think that web site (link) has been up for awhile, I don't think it was created just for the email, and I think they would (should) have caught such a major mistake before now.

I live near this Dealer, if you want one of their cars just make an offer, i bet it will be alot lower than they are asking on website. Another Porsche Dealer about 45 miles away just went out of business. It is touch times in Any car business.

Upon closer inspection of the window stickers, this dealer is flat out asking for mark-up over msrp as their website suggests. Look closly at the second Cayenne. MSRP is $61k as the window sticker shows. The follow pic shows an another little window sticker that usually details out additional costs on top of the MSRP. Look at other listings where the second digit in the price is easy to distinguish on the window sticker. Either this dealer is nuts or their web guy got canned last summer and nobody knows how to fix their website.

Second window sticker shows that a clear bra and all weather mats were installed for another $1150 plus another $1000 on top of all that.
