PDK
I was at a dealer sponsored event on Sat. PCNA folks were there giving demo rides in 997's and Peppers. One of the PCNA people told me the Cayenne will have the PDK tranny by mid year. We have a 05'S and are considering trading. Any thoughts on whether the PDK would be worth the wait?

Better be sure he knows what he's talking about- never heard that before concerning the Cayenne. Hell, you wouldn't spring for it anyway as I couldn't talk to you into PASM... (thought you figured out how to change your sig to 997???)

The Cayenne will not have the PDK in the near future.
Why? It (PDK) doesn't develop enough torque yet, and would make Larry's protestations about towing ability seem like nits!!!!

The PDK can simply not HANDLE the torque; transmissions (except for active hybrid powertrains...) do not MAKE torque.
This is the same reason the PDK has not been 'released' for use on the higher HP Porsches (i.e. Turbo).....it is simply a reliability (re: warranty liability) == $$ PAG doesn't feel comfortable being on the hook for.
