Default Officially Naked

My Cayenne is now running around naked. I went in for one last service at 49,930 miles.

My pepper had gotten a little hesitant even though I run it in manual mode most of the time. I told the service department and surprise surprise 6 out of 8coils were cracked.

The service order says they used pencil coil 948-602-104-05. I have not kept up much in the last month here but last I knew they were replacing with 104-03

Anyone else get the 104-05's?

Are you at all entertaining an aftermarket warranty. I have until October to decide. It sounds like $4k is the going rate for a warranty.

My dealer quoted $7,700 dollars for extended warranty. I have some items that are on the 2 year Porsche parts warranty (such as coils, seat belt and airbag sensors, complete PCM amd radio modules were replaced). Those are the only items I have had any problems with. Luckily I have not had many problems.

Are you shure about that. I just got a new motor and they won't give me any additional warranty on it. They say that any warranty work they do is only good for the original time since it was on their dime not yours.

Others have said that this could be turned into a customer satisfaction issue to get the extra 2 years out of them.

whew, for a second there i thought you had used the words "customer satisfaction" ....

and "porsche"....

in the same sentence. that's the sort of juxtaposition that can cause unscheduled solar eclipses and it to start raining small furry mammals named "spot" and "fluffy" for 40 days and nights (you will notice i separated the three words into fragments).

It was (has been) my understanding that parts including the remanufactured engines have the two year guarantee on parts only, not labor. It is supposed to be one of the benefits of buying parts at or having service done at a Porsche facilty. My wife's Cayenne is in for service right now and I will try to verify.
