No, warming up the car will simply purge any moisture that has impinged the coil (packs) due to the presence of cracks.
Once the cracks grow to become an electromechanical (contact) problem, then it becomes more noticeable.
Thanks, I hope it won't get much worse until my next oil change which is not until Jan 09. Hence I only average 5k/yr on the Cayenne so plan is to go in just once a year for an annual oil change . Btw, I only have like 6k miles on it
Nah, my wife and I really like our Cayenne. We just dont put too many miles on our cars. The highest is a minivan and even that is less than 10k/yr. But I am a little disappointed if the Cayenne has cracked coils at such early age...
Hmmm, mine does idle a tad rough for a min or so whenever it hasnt been driven for days too. I was under the impression bad coils had a much more serious effect so I though the car just needed to be warmed up a bit....
Per the dealer mine only had one coil that had an obvious crack but there were other cyl's that had thrown misfire codes. They replaced all 8 coils under warranty. My Pepper is a CPO vehicle, it will be under warranty for quite a while and anything not covered under warranty I'll most likely do myself (oil changes, brake jobs, ect.). And I keep all records.

Dear Sir, in the Cayenne Forum, EVERY TOPIC is off subject.
67mpg on an 07 525 diesel? That doesn't sound right at all. Is that computer generated mileage or actual calculated mileage based on mileage and fill ups?

Isn't anyone going to mention to the new forum member the story of the deceased forum member....the one who had cracked coils, started his car, sparks under the hood ignited some fuel and he perished, along with the Cayenne?
Oh wait, we're not supposed to talk about that, are we?
OK, how about the Cayenne hybrid prototype that had an 'uncontained thermal event'?
Oh wait, we're not supposed to talk about that either, are we?

I was thinking she was letting her 6 yo do the math but this sounds like a more plausible explanation.
