Default Oil Consumption on Turbo ?

My 06 Turbo seems to be using a lot of oil. What should the normal oil consumption be ? I think 2 quarts in 5000 miles is a little much.

1qt per 2500 miles is WELL within 'normal' limits, per Porsche.....by about a factor of at least 2.

So if I have to add a qt every 1500 miles that is normal. I just can't believe that. You're sure Porsche is saying the normal limit is that high ????

No, I made it up.
Why don't you ask your Porsche dealer to show you the TSB on the topic?
Why don't you do a search of this forum?

Sorry ...... just did a search and see others are reporting the same thing.

When I reported this to my dealer/service they have me scheduled for a complete check up with a loaner car provided. I wonder why they just didn't tell me that they normally burn that much ??? Sure hope they give me a sweet loaner and at least replace the almost qt I am down right now.

But really thanks for your help so far.

No, I have to agree with LTC ..... I should have searched first. He tried to help from the get-go and I implied he was just another dummy. As a mater of fact he was quite easy on me.

I am just glad I found this forum and haven't been baned yet LOL

You should receive a Carrera GT as a loaner car......they probably won't give you a free quart of Mobil 1 oil.

I wish my CTT only used 2 quarts in 5000 miles. You have a winner, congrats!

0w-40 for most parts of the US ... check your Owners Manual for more information.

By the way, ltc actually went easy on you ... he tends to be vicious with new meat.
