Picked up the Cayenne GTS this week. Lots of pics
We picked it up Thursday night, what an awesome truck! Haven't got to spend much time with it yet but the little bit I did get to drive it, I have to say it is quite impressive. What an exhaust note!!!
Here's the options list:
Cayenne GTS Tiptronic 9PA AL1
BASE Base Model Description
A1 Black
A1 Black
TR Standard Black Interior w/Alc
G0R Tiptronic S
PC3 Bi-Xenon Headlights with Washe
PF1 Porsche Communication Manageme
PK2 Frnt/Rear Seat Htr inc Str Whl
PO4 Light Comfort Package in combi
QR1 Compass Display
0AW Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control
0TD Floor Mats
1D6 Trailer Hitch without Hitch Ba
1N3 Variable Assist Power Steering
2D1 Enlarged Rear Spoiler
3FU Panoramic Roof System
3J7 Porsche Crest in Headrests
3X1 Ski Bag
3Y4 Roll-up Sunscreens on rear sid
7X2 Front and Rear Park Assist
9VL Bose Surround Sound System
Next week I'm going to get the windows tinted and have the black Techart Formula GTSs mounted.
Only compliant is the cheesey plasticy dash, pod, center stack and door caps. Hardly fitting for a $90k automobile! Any ideas/opinions about replacing with stock leather (probably pretty pricey) or getting the existing stuff covered?
Let me know your thoughts on the leather thing......

Funny you should mention oil usage. I just returned from doing Tourist Delivery in Europe in the wife's new GTS, and on the last day (driving back to drop the car back at the factory), the check oil light came on. It was at the low mark on the dip stick. A quick visit to the nearest Porsche dealer and a quart of oil added, it seemed fine. I did leave notes with the car when I dropped it off at the factory, but have not heard any news since. It will still be some weeks before it shows up here, but I was a little spooked about the oil consumption. Is this normal for GTS's?

3100 for full leather option through Porsche, BUT I have seen custom shops around that will wrap anything in leather....
I bet you can get the sinilar look to the full leather option if you find a nice custom shop.
My guess is that it will run you at least 2 grand, maybe more.....

Tell me more about these "unusual engine noise"?

PORSCHE AG used on a previous generation Cayennes 03-04 BETTER quality metal components, which were additionally insulated, using painted steel covers and rubber covers. For 08 Cayennes they stopped using that insulation components and metal to save money. Now they are exposed for ANY rust and start to rust right from the Germany factory storage warehouse in autumn/winter rain/snow weather.
...noises from the front of an engine, belt area: belt tensioner, generator, water pump, compressor...

...look closer for rust in a transfer case joints, differential joints, suspension wheels lower joints...You may need to lift the car to see these areas...

Are there fixes for the engine noises?
