In europe you can get it in the v6, S and GTS. In US & Canada only in the v6 and GTS (I think).

On the GTS it is an option for sure and available for the North American market.

Unfortunately, in various magazine reviews, opinions on the manual transmission in the Cayenne vary greatly and really do not clarify the issue at all. Some say it is too vague and imprecise, and in the Cayenne the tip is the better choice. For the GTS some say the opposite...to get the most out of the tweaked V8, and to enjoy the "aural" pleasure, the manual is the way to go; the tip seems to hunt for gears too much. Some reviews claim the Cayenne manual shifts as easily as a Honda...not truck-like at all.

I guess we will not know until we get a true side by side comparison, but it will still boil down to driver preference. On these and several other Porsche forums many are extolling the virtues of the manual in the GTS (fits the more "sporty" concept), but talking to Porsche reps they feel that the tip will still probably sell more in the USA (and Canada), and have better resale appeal and value. The manual will be more of a niche market. At least for now.

Too bad the Cayenne doesn't have a handbrake.

Yes, and a gear shift stalk on the steering column

That would make room for a front bench seat

Alright, let's not give TOO much away regarding the highly anticipated "redesigned" Cayenne......some forum members would rather be surprised when they see it.
