I just put 22" on and I hardly feel a difference. 285/35/22 tires. I have air suspension but I drive in sport which is firmer and I don't think it is bad.

With 20" wheels you should be fine.

Being well medicated today, I'll refrain from my usual rant about why anybody would buy a 5500# SUV and slap on pimp wheels suitable only for the track or for cruizin' on silky smooth streets. (Okay, so I didn't refrain COMPLETELY.)

You will get varying answers to this question, which has been asked many times, in one way or another, by different posters. My guess is that those who routinely drive sports cars or on predominately smooth roads will lean towards less difference, while those of us who drive in cities with less well-maintained thoroughfares (and, therefore, abandoned our sports cars as daily drivers) typically think differently. IMHO, there is a very large difference between 17s and 20s, and another large difference between 20s and 22s. If you bought your car from a dealer, go ask to drive a couple of their demos back to back and make the call for yourself.

What he said. I went from 18s to 20s and thought the ride difference was huge. Of course the rides of various tires are different, so some of the increased harshness could be mitigated by making sure you get the right tire.

There is a limit before you just start looking like a drug dealer, but to each his own. For some people, it takes a lot of bling before they can start feeling like a "playa".

Those are the people who call wheels "rims" and have been e-mailing MTV's Xzibit incessantly, pleading to get on his show.

I always wondered what the difference between the two is and usually referred to mine as rims. Ooops. Thanks for the clarification lol

P.S. I tried to get on "Pimp My Ride", but was rejected. Too bad. I was dying for some spinners, a leopard interior and always wondered what they could have done with the space in the back :-D

Too small for a hot-tub or a waterbed. Maybe a minibar and an HD-TV? How about a 30" subwoofer and 4,000 watt amp so you can hear all the subtleties in your Howard Stern shows?

I'd like Spike TV to add an "Unpimp My Ride" show to their Saturday automotive offerings. Maybe they could give the Cayenne a proper spare tire.

On that show the only thing you KNOW you're going to get installed is a Playstation. Weird.

Then there is that one where the car they brought in was such a POS that they just immediately gave up and bought a brand new 4Runner and pimped it out and gave it to the guy. No joke.

Lewis would say that if you brought in your Cayenne for pimpage, they would replace it with a 4Runner. Or a Hyundai Santa Fe (the original design where it looked like the side was bashed in just ahead of the rear wheel well)

Had 18" on my CS from the dealer to home then put on the huge, mega-blingy TechArt Formula 22" with Diamaris. I have 37,000 miles on those tires and don't notice a "harsh" ride. I have a set of 20" SportTechno that I traded for when I got ride of the 18" stock wheels. I have used the STs when I had the TAs curb rash fixed. Don't notice any difference between the 20" and 22". But then I ride a CBR 600RR for fun and track kicks, not a H-D, so I probably am not an authority on either comfort or the diff from 18-20-22.
