Lightbulb Larry's back from the dead

Just when I thought it was over.......

A fellow karting Dad (who owns a 996GT3) comes up to me at a kart race in NY this weekend for the kids and asks me if I got to the track late Friday night and unloaded. I said yes, then wondered why he would ask, suddenly remembering I didn't see his trailer.

Apparently, he is unable to drive his (wife's) Cayenne S at night while towing his small enclosed trailer + (son's) kart......as for some 'unknown' reason, he loses his lights. Thus he is forced to tow only during daylight hours.

He was somewhat surprised, as he took the Cayenne in for service and his Porsche dealer "fixed" it for $180....or so he thought.

Without knowing anything about the story behind "Larry's 3AM Cup car trailer run on the way to the track with 2 Maglites, racer's tape and a case of D batteries", he asked if I had any thoughts/ideas. He described a "beeping", followed by a "Check Trailer Lights" message that he couldn't find in any of the owner's documentation.

That's all I really remember, I seem to have blacked out shortly afterwards and lost track of things a bit.

Somebody get a bigger shovel, apparently we didn't dig a hole deep enough for Larry the first time.

NO WORRIES! The concussion or black-out has altered some of your short and long term memory. Larry is dead. I saw him in the casket holding his own head. Peter the Great slayed him and placed his head on a platter for his wife (wait or is that John the Baptist)... anyway it was either Peter or Herod the Great, I'm not sure which did the cutting off the head thing.. But rest assured.. the grave was deep and it still contains his remains.. now the Ghost of Larry Past... that's a whole 'nother thing?!

When my family sent me to the "vacation villa" (you would call it a mental hospital) and I spent my days/nights tied down to the bed with my "special pajamas with the footies, flap in the back and arms that wrap around the back" (you would call it a straight jacket), I would type on a laptop with a #2 pencil in my mouth in order to participate in the forum. At that time, I answered to the name "Larry".
I also recall being haunted by a Cayenne that would be continually parked outside my window, illuminated at night by a "!" on the dashboard.....although my family insists that I never in fact owned a Cayenne and was not stalked by a Cayenne.

Anything else you'd like to know?

I like the Dart Gun - "the gun is fun"... plus it's no fun when you stay "in bounds".... Lately, I never get to serve the spiked Purple stuff..... Take a step back over to the "dark side"... you know you want to!
