Default Flickering Xenon lights?

Hi everyone,

My CS 2005 has had a chronic problem with flickering Xenon headlights, several dealer fixes including calibrating the sensor have resulted in outcome, the flickering occurs mostly during acceleration, stopping, and cornering. Almost like the lights are trying to adjust their levels, any ideas why ...? has anyone else noticed this specific problem?
thanks a bunch,
Sam

I have the same issue on my 2004 CTT. The dealer told me it was a low battery, but that was not the case (the battery died and I replaced it, but the problem remains). Please let me know what you find out.

...no discussion about the battery but they've also tried all sorts of tightenings of the lights and housing...still flickering

Message from Larry.......replace headlight assemblies..........

BTW, have you verified that in fact the lights are flickering (interruptions of optical output due to ballasting, etc) vs just mechanical vibration (associated with leveling system/actuators)?

Flickering: define electrical vs mechanical please.......then have the dealer swap out the expensive headlight assemblies.......

End Message from Larry......

On mine they certainly appear to flicker, like they are turning on and off rapidly -- not raising up and down as they do when you first turn them on. It is most prominent when I come to a stop (or even start to brake when moving slowly). I never get a check dipped beam light but every once in a while I get a key battery replacement warning (even though the batteries were just replaced).

if the light flickers it should have to show as an open circut to the elec system ecu
you should have a warning on the dash,
remeber the the lights move they are not stationary
they turn and rise and lower

I have had the dipped light warning couple of times but not necessarily with the flickering problem, yes, I think the lights actually turn on & off pretty fast when it happens, I am aware that these are self leveling lights but does everyone notice the action of leveling every time you go thru a bump or come to a stop?
dealer has found no error mssgs yet.

Default Are both lights flickering together, or just one?

Have the lights changed color at all? I assume the dealer tried replacing the bulbs...

I had a similar problem on my Saab 9-5 and all it took was a bulb change. In that case, one light flickered more than the other and it changed to more of a purple color. It also happened when I was braking.

I'm sure the dealer already tried this... but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case...

Yes both lights do it at the same time and no I don't think it's the light bulb since both have been replaced after the " dipped light warning sign" in the long past

thanks for your input,
Sam

I had this on my 05 turbo. After a couple attempts on fixing, dealer just replaced the headlight assembly and no problems in the past year.
