Default Finally a cure for the unusual oil consumption!

I can't believe it took them 4 years to come up with this easy fix for the unusual oil consumption we've all being seeing in our CTT's.

Apparently a recently released bulliten from PCNA has now declared that it is "normal" for a CTT to consume up to 1 quart of oil per 1000km.

i guess now what I'm dealing with is "normal"

I don't think it's that recent, the 'normal' oil consumption # has been around for about a year now.

Actually, I think it has actually got worse. From my dealer:

"They said it's normal for all Porsches to burn about 1.6 quarts of oil per 622 miles. They asked us to check the oil separator to see if there was any excessive oil. We checked & found some oil in there so we're gonna replace that piece with the gasket."

Looks like I have to take my truck in as it is not getting those consumption figures. My truck goes about 4-5000 miles before I have to add!

My "Lawn-Boy" is down to about 1 QT / 2,500 mi now, with ! 26k on the clock. Early consumption was 1/1,000 mi. BTW.... How do these things pass emmissions with this kind of oil consumption?
