Need to replace front windshield
In calling around to many different auto glass shops, I've got estimates ranging from $300 to $650. I called the dealer (in Newport Beach, CA) and they told me they use an outside shop. I called that shop and they told me they don't have the OEM glass, but they use an identical type (she thought it was called "secure it") of glass. Also, does the molding need to be replaced at the same time or is it ok to use the old molding? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Had the windshield replaced twice. Both times the dealer (in MD) used an outside shop, but glass was OEM. $265 for glass. About $450 with installation.

A long, long time ago, in a Porsche showroom, far, far away, the Death Star, ruled by the Evil Dr. W and his apprentice Peter the Great produced Cayennes with optical windshield distortion. That problem was resolved. The current generation of OEM glass still has the issue, but it is much better.
Just use a reputable windshield replacement company, if you brought the car to the dealer, that's exactly what they would do anyways.
Remember, it's a Cayenne after all, don't worry about the little things.
