I really hope I'm wrong on this but I just spoke with a friend of mine who runs the local Porsche parts dept. and he said there are no hard copies period.
You cannot even buy the CD, you have to be a Porsche service tech with
a password into the system and then everything is available to you.
I can't believe that but who knows. I was under the assumption (probably
false) that in the U.S., everyone who sold cars here had to make a manual
available to the purchaser of the car if they wished to buy one. That's why
so many people from other countries buy manuals from dealerships here.
I'm probably wrong as is often the case but I'm going to do more research
and let you know.

Just checked and yes, there is no manual. You have to subscribe to a service
in order to download info from the on-line manual. Not sure of the price yet, I doubt it's cheap. Kinda lousy if you ask me. I've got 25 or 30 factory manuals on 911's, no problem. But now, they are getting tight on letting the info out. I'm not impressed.

You can actually buy the manuals here. I purchased a set when I had my beta model 2004 S. Beware, these are not cheap!

Thanks Toby, that's the site I was looking for. Not cheap is right.

Can't imagine anyone actually wanting to work on this vehicle by themselves....unless of course you were trying to, oh I don't know, retrofit BiXenons for Halogens?

I'd at least like to be able to read CEL codes, It's been a big help with the 993 and I thought it might come in handy for the CS.
I went as far as creating a user name and passwork, now I can download
any document I want for a mere 110.00 or sign up for a years subscription for 5,200.00. What a bargan. Think I'll pass. I would think many shops who service Porsche vehicles would choke on that one as well....

Larry.... Um, I mean Lewis.... You are such a dogmo!

BTW, I still have my E-sized plotter outputs of the 2004 S wiring diagrams if anyone is nervy enough to tackle it! C'mon Pilgrim! Make my day!

Bruce,

Run, don't walk to your local dealer. Find out what the shop foreman likes - cigars, donuts, whatever.... Then BUY him/her a year's supply of 'em. You'll spend much less money and be MUCH happier!

Toby (anybody need a set of Bi-Xenon headlight assemblies? I have some for very little money!)

Toby, good idea. Actually, I've spent such a S@$%load of money at my local
parts department over the last 30 years that they offered to print out any pages I wanted if I asked. Can't bitch too much about that I guess. Still,
I miss the old days when you could just buy a parts manual. Hell, I'd even
take a CD. You don't suppose Porsche is just trying to make more money
do you....nah. Can't be that.
