If PCNA legal sees them, I'm pretty sure they'll disappear pretty quick.

If you know someone who has this option, simply get their VIN# and your Porsche dealer should be able to order them against said VIN........expect a bit of a delay thereafter for production and shipping.

Or start checking dismantlers.......you might find a pair from a donor.

i thought you could order crested headrests after the fact as well. what i understand is that they won't allow ordering the crested storage lids in any manner other then time of purchase.

of course LTC probably has the answer to that last road block.

The most successful workaround is the one I mentioned back at the top.

If you have the option at time of purchase, based on VIN#/eDCS data, then you are entitled to being able to order a "replacement".

So, much like identity theft, having the VIN# of a "friends" vehicle with the aforementioned option, allows the order to be accepted/shipped.
Of course, if you order crested storage lids more than once/year, they may begin to get suspicious and make it a bit more difficult, but doing it once is pretty much a sure thing.

And of course, it's still : "lipstick on a pig"......

So you guys are telling me that there are no aftermarket ones available and that you cannot buy OEM ones without first having them as part of the original equipment?? Entitled???

Whatever.

On a side note, I was in a buddy's Touraeg yesterday and was making the usual observations and comparisons and I must say, the leather in those things (his anyway) was much smoother and looked to be of a higher quality. His V-8 had a nice little rumble to it as well. I, of course waved the Porsche flag and reminded him of the differences, but I have to admit it was not a bad 2nd choice.....

I bought my 08 Cayenne off the lot, but my wife wanted the crested headrests, the dealer agreed that his next order he would get the Cayenne with crested headrests and when it comes in we will swap. I had them put it in writing.

Another dealer told me he could order them through the parts department, but they were triple the price than getting when the vehicle is ordered.
