Spirited discussion? Here?
Oh wait, that must have been "The Forum Formerly Known as the Rennlist Cayenne Forum".......ah, yes, the good old days, the 'Honeymoon' phase of Cayenne introduction and ownership.

Trailer lights.......

Great feedback. Not sure what we will do now....might hold out for a newer model based on everyone's inputs. Thanks.

for the average buyer id say stick with a 05+
But if your willing to have the posibiltiy of small repairs an 03-04 is fine
find one with average milage. low milage ones may have never had their issues yet and high milage ones may have been flogged. Really the cayennes are all great, the engines have been bullet proof. We have changed 2 v6 and 2 v8s being that we sell and servcei more cayenens then any where in the world id say thats not bad numbers. Trannies are the same, the early cars have strange minor electrical issues, mostly in programing of the control units and by now i have to think they have all been fixed, I havent seen an 03 with weird problems in quite a while and even the 04s are getting rare to see for anything but matinence.

99FireHawk --- uh-hummm -- if you have an alpha or Beta --- it hasn't got a spare... thus a simple flat or blow-out, it won't run back to the dealer without a flatbed underneath it.... been there - done that.. and yet, I bought another as well and am driving it now?!

Alex + MadFox = Cayenne Kool-Aid Drinkers to the MAX

I see cayeens towed in full of diesel all the time too, is that a problem with the car.
Every once in a while one may get towed for the most part they are rock solid

Sorry to disagree guys but 99firehawk is correct, I have come to that conclusion after much reflection.

I had the choice to dump and run but decided to stay with the beta because it just runs. I am lucky and have never had a flat, (touching my head), the rest are niggles and can be very frustrating, or rather PCNA is frustrating not the car.

Everytime I drive an alternative I cannot wait to get back into mine.

Even tho I liked the ML Diesel and the new X5 (8) neither felt as good as my beta.

I know why brad wants to get the price down and buy one, it will be a bargain car. (nothing to do with his ability to fix it either)

"much" --- you've never come clean on how the whole thing worked out.. but I'm glad that your resolution didn't embitter you.. as I would have kept mine too if I could have gotten an ext. warr. but NOT do-able at 70K after Hawaii fiasco!

okay... I went along for your first two points... but Cayenne = Bargain.. NOT! in fact... any Porsche = Expensive... If it was a bargain, it'd be a Tourag (drum roll, ltc to point out % parts!)
