Default Xenon vs Regular headlamps

I am considering a 2006 Cayenne S that has all the options we want except for the bi-xenon headlamps. Looking for opinons from those that have driven Cayenne's with & without the Xenons. How big of a difference does it make driving at night on unlit roads?

Thanks.

My wife's car has halogens and I've had xenon on both Cayennes.. I'd say depending on your age.. xenons are very very nice for night driving.. it blows me away how powerful the xenons are on road signs, etc. With the wide availability of used and new 2006 Cayennes.. I would continue to shop around.. you should be able to find one somewhere in your region that suits your tastes perfectly IMHO.

Car is for my wife and she is set on a Havana Sand interior and no Black, Lapis or Red exterior. Choices are actually pretty limited right now.

IMHO the Xenons are a "gotta have". I was pondering the same question prior to purchase (hoping to save a few bucks), but after I bought the car with Xenons I am so glad I have it. The benefit in night driving is significant.

Especially on resale! You can pay now for them, or pay later for not having them.

Get Xenons. the Porsche dealer I worked at we ordered all stock Cayennes with Bi-Xenons headlights it makes a world of difference driving at night. Hold out for a Pepper with Bi-Xenons and Air Suspension is nice to have as well. White and Havanna/Sand Beige is pretty sharpe looking at should be easy to find

Because it's not just plug and play. It will take a lot of expense and effort to retrofit it later.

Why the recommendation on air suspension? We have the stock suspension and I wouldn't want the added complexity/potential reliability issues of an air suspension....maybe I'm in the minority, but our '06 S is optioned perfectly for my taste with the titaniam package (zenons, sunroof, cool exhausts, trim, etc). In fact, the only option I wanted that we don't have is the seat/mirror memory...

If you tow I think it is invaluable. I also enjoyed the variety of riding options that you have. It was a necessary option in my mind.

Biggest complaint I had on my 03 (besides the spare tire storage issue) was that it had Halogens instead of Xenons. Driving up the mountain road to my house (no street lights) the halogens are not powerful enough to pick up animals lurking on the side of the road. I now have Xenon lights in my 08CTT and they do a much better job of lighting up not only the road ahead but add a margin of safety to the side as well.
