Default Nice blurb on new Panamera

In the 2/07 issue of CAR magazine, a 4 door built on the 911 frame, but spacious interior, and Cayenne-derived motor. Available first as a 300 hp V6, then as a hybrid, then as a powerful V8.

Same issue had new BMW M3, and new Lambo.

Probably old news, but some interesting reading and photos.

Hmmn, the long awaited VAG/PAG Hybrid......
I'll bet that has kept some electrical engineering types up late more than few nights.
No, it's not built on a 911 frame (911's don't have frames), although there are some test mules using '911'....actually 996/997 unibodies for testing.
Yes, it will use a derivative of the Cayenne motor family, most likely in a transaxle, ala 968 (for weight distribution).
Yes, it will share a LOT of components with existing (or soon to be released....hello Geneva Auto Show) components.......reuse is the buzzword at PAG these days.

I think I'll pass, I've seen enough.

I'm with ltc....... too many new things being attempted in the variant.. it will be better than the Cayenne launch..but still, no alpha/beta for me.

When I said "I've seen enough", it's because I've seen enough of the Panamera.....everyone else will have to wait I suppose.
