This has just happened to me, had an intermittent fault come up. Called out Porsche Assist who checked everything over and recommended that I got it into the OPC when I got home.

The car was returned to me on Friday after they replaced all of the suspension sensors and the headlight adjustment sensor. Just glad it was all done under warranty

That was one of the reasons I used to convince myself to not go for that option.

Ditto from me on springs vs. PASM.. and I've got nearly 6K miles and no faults.. in fact, not one problem to date. Few squeaks/rattles that I've still not taken the time to go to the dealer about ... all in all very happy camper with the new "beast".

So what is the magic with PASM? Is it the versatibility, or is it a noticeably smoother ride on comfort setting? Is there any difference in Normal setting?

A friend has a steel spring Cayenne and the difference even in normal setting is VERY noticeable. Try it...I tow and for that it is a necessity.

I had that problem some months back.

After several visits, my dealer finally discovered a couple of bad "connectors." Replaced them, and I haven't had the problem since!

Question: I have had the same issue from time-to-time and when it disappeared after a very interval. I just have ignored it; figured that if it was legitimate problem it wouldn't go away so quickly. Should one be concerned? Happened maybe a dozen times in 3 years.

Here is what I had explained to me regarding this problem: The system uses an air-pump with a filter assy to keep the system filled. Under some circumstances, the filter can become moist and possibly freeze restricting the air flow rate into the system. The end result is a temporary fault because the pump has to work harder than it should. After the system has replenished itself and the ignition switch is cycled, the fault is no longer present and disappears. This problem cures itself when the vehicle is put in dry areas (a weekend in the garage for example) so the moisture will evaporate off of the filter. If it doesn't seem to correct itself, the problem may be remedied by having your service tech pull the filter assembly and dry it or replace the pump that comes with the filter.

Hope this helps.

I have an 05 S that did exactly the same thing. Turns out that the battery was dying. Dealer replaced (not included in warranty so $450.00) and it has not happened since.

Default take a picture

i found during my sojourn that the camera on my phone, while small and insignificant, made some lovely pictures of the various trouble codes that popped up on the annunciator and the PCM. take a few pics, go up to kinko's and print them out in 8X10 glossies and toss them on the service manager's desk.

I think a service, for example something like "P CodeAlert", to transmit the codes wirelessly to the local P dealer when things happen...(oops we still don't have a practical iPod connection or BT)...

I have had the same issue with the occasional stereo lockups...never shows up when @ the dealer & no stored codes either, PASM still fine 47K
