rear window and comfort settings
My wife took our "new to us" 04 cayenne S to the local dealer to get a few things looked at.
1. the rear window was difficult to close, you would have to close it multiple times before it finally stayed closed. After reading from all of you it sounds like the microswitch. The dealer is saying it is $380 to fix it. now i have not talked to them yet, but it seems to me that this has been a subject of 3-4 recalls on that microswitch alone, so if that is the cause of the problem it should not be something I pay for. Do you feel that it is the microswitch?
number 2 issue was the door unlock setting was not staying in the comfort menu, when you used the other remote. Reading on this forum and others it sounded like the comfort control unit was the issue and that is what they found. Of course all for the price of $850. Does anyone know where this unit is and can it be replaced myself?
thanks!

the rear window sounds more like a rear window latch then a switch, really dealer will probaly replace both
+2 sounds like a rear comfort control unit, its behind the pass sdie luggar compartment trim.
the parts probaly about 500-600
and you wont save anymoney if you break even 1 trim panel (which is very likely search for it)
is your cayenne out of warrenty?

Stupid question, but eash key sets its own settings. Are you sure you are losing your settings? I have had it happen to me, so Im not doubting you, just making sure the problem is not an intended feature.
