Question 08CayS has 35hp more vs 07x5 4.8, but same 0-100km/h. WHY?

...they both weight the same, at least on paper, published on both official web sites.

08 CayS has about 35hp more and about 20 more torque, than 07 x5 4.8.

But...they publish almost the same 0-100 km/h time = 6.7/6.8s (steptronic and tiptronic).

"builtin HESITATION/DELAY tip transmission" in CayS?... or it doesn't use it's hp, just publishes for marketing purposes?...

...what do you think, any idea WHY?...

There are many more factors in a 0-60mph time than vehicle weight and HP/TQ numbers. Here are a few that come to mind:
  • Transmission Efficiency
  • Transmission Gear Ratios
  • Tire Diameter
  • Drag Coeffecient
  • RPMs at which Peak Power & Torque occur

Then, even if all above factors are identical for both vehicles you would have to consider how the HP & TQ numbers were determined?... how was the dynomometer calibrated and adjusted for STP? Perhaps, if the x5 motor was tested using Porsche measurement equipment, it would be determined to produce more power than the new 08 Cayenne v8.
