Is the Cayenne a heap of ****?

Just picked up an 06 CT. I'm lovin every second of the 350mi so far. Moved up from an 06 V6 manual which I loved with exception to a lack of go-power which the CT has cured. The horn went on the V6. This turbo has a rattling "like a mini moracca" which seems to be coming from near to the drivers side view mirror adjustment. I love the vehicle, perfect marriage of performance and size that suits me. Any ideas as to the rattle? Thanks. Ed

Nazdar!
We have an 04 CTT built in 8/03.
Love it with no regrets and honestly no major problems.
All issues with our car have been taken care of swiftly.
I really don't know what in terms the 05+ models have better besides DVD nav and updated coil packs.
If someone has an ETKA parts catalog to share some important differences I'd like to hear, otherwise find a car with good records and be happy.
I don't know what warranty is given in Europe? Are you buying the car in the Czech Republic?
If it's the 2 year warranty I would look at an 05 unless the 04 is an amazing deal, thats pretty low mileage anyway....
Good luck and great city!

If it's a piece of **** (I have yet to find out, currently at 30k & had a transfer case replaced, what comes next, I dunno), it is a fast, fun to drive and a good looking one. Oh, and helps you get lots of poontang too! j/k :-D

I love mine. I have owned or driven almost every brand of SUV out there and the Cayenne S is my favorite, though I only have 1 gripe. The cup holders, like in every porsche, are too close to each other and will only fit a regular can of soda or a med to small beverage. Now you say what is the big deal? In a regular 911, who cares about cup holders, but in a Cayenne, come on! Where does my super big gulp go? I know , I can get one of those $1 cup holders that go into the window slot. Now that is classy..

03/04 production '04 CTT with 24K miles and only one problem that was fixed by the dealer. While '05/'06 models may be even more bug free the cost of entry on a used '04 CTT made it a deal I couldn't pass up. I appreciate the car / truck more each time I drive it.

The Cayenne is an extroardinary vehicle. It has so many capabilities and functionalities. To start off, it has the Porsche engine mated to a sophisticated 4 wheel drive system. It will go fast, and it will go offroad. Then there's all kinds of technology you can add on top of this platform: air suspension with ride height adjustment! Navigation, parking sensor, rain sensing wipers (actually this one is standard now), Variable rate power assisted steering, Satellite radio, etc. Compared to ordinary cars, the Cayenne is like something from the future. The ultimate Cayenne is of course the Turbo. There's nothing quite like it. A few competitiors will accelerate as fast, but none has the special qualities that it has.

I think it is a fine truck. Has a GREAT passing gear. My complaints: throttle lag (unless PSM turned off), no Bluetooth. Cup holders are similar to Audi A-3 (as noted above). Boxster has much better cup holders. Would think the truck had room to incorporate this type.
