Default Block Heater

Can't find much here on block heaters and am definately not paying the price of an OEM one.Anyone put an inline coolant heater on and which one did they use?Also where was best place to put it. Can get cold here in canuckland!

Yeah it sure does up there, I think a block heater would be must to reduce wear and tear on the engine when you first start it up. All those parts grinding away before the oil gets there.

The OEM heater is great and the solution does a bit more than just heat things up for the engine. I liked it so much that I looked into adding it to my other truck a while back. I do wish Porsche supported the remote feature that they do in Europe. I'm guessing it's a legal thing.

Webasto makes the OEM heater. They have an aftermarket coolant heating option they market as "BlueHeat Thermo Top":

BlueHeat is pretty much on par with the version that Webasto does for Porsche and VW so it's not inexpensive. It priced out at $1,500 installed (with a remote) for my other truck.
