How is Lana? How would you describe it? You know your getting screwed but your not getting screwed as much as you would as let say, Manhattan Motor Cars or the guys in Westchester.

Otherwise, I decided to deal with a shop that was recommended by Detailing Dynamics (why I haven't inquired before, I've been going to them for a few years, is beyond me). I've been rather pleased so far.

We took delivery of our 2009 Cayenne Turbo S at the end of November 2008, and have over 13,500 miles on it to date, including cross country runs from California through AZ, NM and TX and a trip Florida and back for the space shuttle Atlantis launch.
Worst MPG for any leg of the long trips was 17.4, best was 20.7 and most legs are mid 18 or better. We drive the speed limit, but not over. Our Carrera is comfortable for long trips, but the Cayenne is a cut above that.
Oil consumption on both trips was nil - on the Florida trip we had the oil changed two days before leaving, and we added about 1/3 quart halfway home on the return. 5500 miles and it took 1/3 quart to maintain the oil level to the level after service. Same for the first trip. Oil consumption since break in has not come close to approaching the level suggested in the user's manual, by a wide margin.
Problem areas: none. Zip. Zilch. Nada. O-for. Doughnut.

Traced to mulitple misfire faluts - PO300 - 301, 303, 305, 307. Traced to ignition coil failure ... replaced all ignition coil assemblies as required for proper repair. Yeah warranty.

78k and I got (cardan) shafted, while coming home from a toruney with my boys. Limped 70 miles home with intermittent thumps, bumps and grinds. Weird thing is it would come and go for no apparent reason. Sometimes going uphill would set it off, other times not. Then downhill would do it, etc. Last 25 miles, not a bump at all, until I got off the exit, and then shake n Bake.
Bottomline: $695 for the shaft, $225 for the labor. Interesting side note: The driveshaft that went bad was bore a VW part number 7L0 521 102 D. Veru curious.

06 CS 29k, 8 new ignition coils. All cracked same fashion (part ending #01). Only symptom was a mild bumpy idle (most noticable in drive when stopped with foot on the brake).
Recommendation to all pig owners who have never had coils replaced and warranties are about to expire: Pull one coil from the driver side (ten min project - you can find picture directions on this site) and check it. Dealer originally told me if no CEL, everything must be okay and to use some fuel cleaner. That's BS, any slight rough idle in these things 95% of the time means cracked coils. Protect yourselves while under warranty. A picture of the cracked coil should be all you need to have your dealer order you eight new ones.

2006 CS Titanium Edition, 34k miles (air suspension, pano. roof, etc..)
..34k miles of very nice driving with no problems.
But, front pads are comming to maturity, ..together with front disks.
Well, nothing to complain about this, except a bit of surprise that "pads = pads + disks"
True that we are not talking about a Lotus Elise type of weight, but still this car has great and real brakes !
So, the energy has to go somewhere, ..i.e.: thinning the disks !
Ah, one detail, that I have not read yet in this (long) thread: If you use e-brake (..i.e.: San Francisco parkings..) then we get at least 5 or 6 time the red warning, each time trying to re-releasing as much as we can ! Normaly, after multiple tries, the warning looks tired and finaly stay put !
Service man at dealer says: "Well, we know this one very well: the hydraulic release system is out."
No big deal, but to be done one of these days.
PS: One complain: the pano roof: open it, drive to 65mph, ..and you have an hurricane Cat 5 inside !
(with and without one (or the two) rear windows gently open, a little more of full open, ..no changes ! just closing the roof, and eventualy only open the rear part of that roof !)

Ah, one more thing about the 06 CS : we have 20" "Techno Wheels". Originaly they came with Michelin Diamaris. I changed at 20k miles (the Diamaris were done, or: really well done.)
..may be because I had to wait a certain time, and I was patient!, to get a set of Vredestein UltraSessanta SUV.
Glad I was patient: much more silent than the Diamaris, much better feeling on uneven roads, the CS seems to realy like these tires. ..And they are less expensive than the Diamaris !
Today, 14k later, the Vred are not done yet, and it looks like they will do about the same as the Diamaris, i.e: around 18k with our "driving habits" !

Got the PSM Failure, workshop warning last week. Took it to the dealer and they found fault codes for air leak in crank case breather system. Found oil separator line for crank case broken and was replaced. FP Number: 948-107-214-51. $51.71 dollar part but $260 in labor!
