I know it's early, but once again my thoughts have turned to my yearly Christmas card for Peter the Great's in Atlanta.

So, after reading threads here over the past year, I've begun to notice that people have determined their own little names for 'PSM', some have been really funny, and I thought.....

How about a list of the PSM definitions for Peter? Once we have them all together, I'll put them in a tasteful Christmas card (of course sent via Certified/Registered Mail, Signature Required, Return Receipt......and on legal letterhead, just for that little extra 'something') and send it directly to our fearless leader.....

I'll start with the first one I ever heard (at the track):

PSM = Please Save Me.

Can't disagree with the most common "Please Save Me" for bad road conditions, but for anyone who's tried to make a turn in front of oncoming traffic with it on: Please Smash Me.

For me, it's mostly Placate Spouse Mode, since it's only on when she's in the truck.

Or, I have two options for the true purpose of its current implementation in the Cayenne:
1. (European terminology, of course) Petrol Saving Mode; or
2. Presumption of Stupidity Module.

I turn PSM in the Boxster on when my wife autocrosses it. She calls it BRAKES (and I have the fried tires to prove it )
