Not at all surprised by the coil, the engine mount is different, but I'm still trying to understand why one cracked coil and a defective motor mount would do what you described (floor it and nothing much happened)........

vario cam fault tends to appear in cars about the time they need an oil change, oil change fixes them 99% of the time p0011 p0010 camnshaft timing overadvanced
IF one coil shorted out it would pop the fuse for all the coils on its bank so you would be down to 4 cylinders and i have seen this happen a few times.
