Default Cayenne S vs Hummer H3

For those of you familiar with the Hummer (GM) H3 it is touted as the new fuel efficient SUV. Every add you see says it gets 20 mpg. Mine never got more than 19 mpg. It was more like 16 all around. One of the things I hated about it was it was really really slow. It took about 11 seconds to get to 60 with 260 hp.

Now having a Cayenne S for about 1200 miles I am getting 19 at 70mph and 17 going over 80. Go figure.

Yes there is no comparison, I know that. It's just funny how the German's squeeze more mileage out of a powerful V8 than the Americanos can out of an I 5. No wonder GM is going down the drain, with all this good gas mileage they say your going to get, that you don't.

At least all the bicycle people are giving a different finger salute. I now get the thumbs up instead of the f... you, gas guzzler,

Those GM Engines are all very tired, not to many new designs for a while to reach the mass market.

The US automakers are heading towards a niche based model unless they start making cars that people actually desire.

The rest of the world has changed dramatically over the last 5 years in terms of the cars joe public are driving around, the same is not true in the US.

I am sure glad Toyota et al are making them in this country now, that may be the only game in town eventually

Toyota and Honda - as close as American cars we can get - and in general better than Ford and GM...
