![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I am considering removing the Bose Sub and replacing it with the space saver spare. I searched in the archives and did not find any detailed info on it.
I expect I am to purchase this at my local dealership? Is so...how much?
Are there any other options available?
Thanks.

Fill out the form and they will respond within 24 hours. Good folks to deal with.

Spare tire
or
Secondary battery.
The former is fairly straightforward; mechanical install only.
The latter was only offered in the alpha and early beta years (shame, it was a neat option). Installing a second battery is much more complicated, due to the VIN specific wiring harness nature of the Cayenne. It CAN be done, but I don't think it's worth the effort.

You didn't mention what year you have, but I'm guessing an 03 or 04.
If you have an 03 or 04, then my investigation/queries from a couple of months ago resulted in the conclusion that the space saver would not fit without removing the battery too.
ltc correct me if I'm wrong, but that was what I got from our thread back in June. Anyway, Sunset gave me a price in the $350 range (I don't remember exactly since I didn't go forward with it) for the space saver.
Somebody please tell me that I'm wrong!;-)

Correct, in US versions of the Cayenne you could get the space saver spare if you didn't have the extra battery. I have a 2004 Cayenne, built in July 2003, and it has the space saver spare.
