Default v10 TDI Touareg coming back to the USA

Hi xxx,

Did you want us to notify you when the TDI Touareg's come in? They will be going for the price you saw them for on cars.com ($70,168)- this will be a non-negotiable price.

Thanks,

xxx

I heard these cars were already trading hands for a premium in the USA because they were booted out.

Are they really THAT good?

Yes, the engine is really that good.
I'm a PowerStroke diesel fan, but I would buy a VAG V10 TDI.

Yes, I, too, have heard they are that good... all my friends in Germany drive turbo diesels - not just for fuel economy, but also because they are so much fun!

I still think that the next generation Cayenne might eventually get some form of high revving turbo diesel engine. While Wiedeking denies Porsche ever offering one, I think they will need it eventually to keep sales up in Europe. That'll be the first Porsche diesel since the ol' tractor... But they won't have much in common!

DITTO. and yes, I know about shared components. VW Service SUCKS.. nevermind the horrible reliability... I can only imagine the issues with an expensive diesel SUV. No thanks. Now, a nice powerstroke diesel with a quality american made truck... ooops, I just typed an oxymoron!

Boy you guys are tough on VW- my son has a GTI 337 which is a great fun car- he's heavily modded it but it's still been pretty damned reliable (much more so than the Cayenne which is at the dealer as we speak getting the turn signal issue addressed). My DD is a new GTI which is basically a Audi A3 for 8K less which has been great so far, 7200 miles and counting... my first car is (still have it after 35 years) technically a VW-Porsche and I wouldn't get rid of it for anything (I'm VERY sentimental).

Quality made American built Ford Heavy Duty Powerstroke Diesel Crew Cab pickup truck is NOT an oxymoron.

It is 7000# of cold rolled, full frame, American steel that can drive over any PAG/VAG product like it was a speed bump, then with a 12000/15000# towing capacity, drag (while getting 15+ mpg, 20mpg when not towing) the aforementioned Germany carcass to the scrap yard for proper burial (or service).

We now return you to your normally scheduled forum programming......

Hey.. and you have it in "Roll Tide" colors!! Can I borrow it to load up #2 so for Alabama on Saturday!? The Cayenne isn't gonna hold much.. may have to get a U-Haul again.. which that is always interesting looking!
