Is this basically the same engine with bored out work or chipped or what?
Is the extra power felt?

depends on which engine...
the V6 is going from 250hp to maybe 295hp which will be a BIG kick... in a car that NEEDS it. Also gains displacement from 3.2l to 3.6l and added torque.
The CS will go from 340 to maybe 390... and YES, 50 hp is very noticeable.

I doubt the CS will get that much kick. Porsche doesn't have that much incentive to trade gas mileage for more power with the V8. It's really the V6 that they need to add more juice.

I, for example... want a new '08 next year. I was going to go with a CS, but if it's 300vs350 I may just go with V6 again.

If you are talking about a 2004 Cayenne Turbo vs. a new Tubo S then yes you can feel the extra power. But the 04 Turbo has plenty of power already and certainly is a much better value vs. a new one.

I have an 04 which is just fine. No issues. The wife thinks we have to upgrade.
What did they do to these to get the extra horses?
When do you feel them, at low or mid range?

ECU mapping, intercoolers enlarged, internal bits strengthened, etc.....similar to the X50 on the 996TT.
The engine is not bored out between 04 and today.

I skipped the brake portion of the Powerkit upgrade, since he was interested in hp.
Personally, I like brakes and suspension a lot more than hp.
