Default Anyone upgrade non-automatic lights to automatic?

Have a CS that came without the "AUTO" lights feature. Now I find that my left hand much reach at least twice a trip to turn the lights on and off. If this keeps up, I could sprain a wrist or shatter my forearm.

Okay, so there's no real justification for adding the "AUTO" feature... I'll be honest: I'm just bored and looking for a project.

Has anyone explored what it would take to get "auto" in an non-"auto" C? I assume this would require a sensor, and a new switch. Any changes to relays or other electrical hoo-hah?

If it's a resonable mod, I'll give it a whirl. After all, what's the worst that can happ-- ah, wait... don't answer that last question.

Any advice / experiences appreciated.

You already know the answer to that question, don't you.

Given the VIN specific nature of the Cayenne's wiring harness, you may not have the wiring to the sensor.
I'm also not 100% sure (I'd have to check), but the option may be configured thru the comfort control module, so a PIWIS S/W update may be required.
