Mike H: Before you finalize, I'd suggest you call Mark Bailey at Michael Porsche in Fresno. (559) 431-6000. I offered (over the phone) to pay up to $2K over invoice for my Cayenne two years ago. Mark countered with $700 over invoice. I accepted and he sent an order guide. Sent a check for $1,000 with my order. Couple months later I went to Fresno to pick it up and that was my first time at that Porsche store. Needless to say it was completely hassle-free. There is NO advantage to buying at a South Bay dealer that I can see.

Raptor, I completely agree about buying in the SouthBay. I tend to assume they think I will just walk into a dealership and pay whatever they ask with all the valuable stock options we have(yeah right) ...I'll definitely try the Fresno route, thanks for the heads up.

Actually, you'd be suprised what kind of deals you can get at a Bay Area dealer. Due to the number of dealers within the area, they should be equally competitive. The selection is definitely better in the Bay Area. If you check the inventory of the Fresno dealer, they only have a couple of S's on the lot.

They will work a trade with another dealer, however.

They were pretty good to deal with. I was able to get a decent discount since I bought my 996 Turbo from them in Dec. and have a deposit down with them for a GT3/997TT.

Fletcher Jones in Fremont is pretty good too. They have a nice black Turbo S on their floor that I was looking at today. It's got the sand beige interior and the gauge faces are sand beige too. Looks nice that way. George Acosta is the salesperson to contact there.

Steven's Creek is currently the best Bay Area Dealership. I have bought 6 cars from them recently. They are far ahead of Carlsen who lost my business and service work (after about 10 cars); pretty stupid of them in my opinion. Carlsen tried to shaft me on my Turbo and GT2, demonstrating that they don't appreciate loyalty. They will rue the day, I have a long memory and a lot of loyalty! Carlsen has an arrogance and feel they don''t need anyone's business.

Talk to Mark/Bob/Hank at Steven's Creek, and tell them I sent you.

Yep. Carlsen lost my business too and I ended up buying 2 cars from Stevens Creek based on Colm's recommendation.

I bought my Cayenne S from Porsche of Fremont (Fletcher Jones Porsche) after shopping around. I had a very professional experience, and got a good price.
