BTW - My wife and I decided to wait until the 2007 facelift comes out before seriously considering getting one.

Really?

That's just like BMW - you can have NAV or IPOD integration.

Guys,

Stop hijacking my thread!

I am asking for info about getting a new Cayenne and it has turned into a blutooth discussion.

Anyone out there with a recent buying experience? Are the '07s really getting a facelift or will the facelift come in '08?

Thanks to all.

I'm picking up an '06 CS later today, after they finish detailing it.

According to my dealer there will be no '07 Cayenne, the '06 will be produced into 2007 while they retool for the facelifted 2008 Cayenne. He also said that PAG will be restructuring the carryover Cayennes with a very limited option list. He called them "Titanium Special Edition" and as the name implies you can get it in any color as long as you want Titanium (which is my color choice ). The option list will be very short and consist mostly of packages. Pricing hasn't been released but he flat out told me that if we don't come up with a quality CTT between now and September and I want a CS instead I should wait and order a Titanium Special Addition. Pretty strong from a salesman who has 6 new CS's on the lot now....

mjw930.....care to calrify what you are stating regarding there being no 2007???? That makes absolutely no sense at all. So either (1) you were tyrying to be funny, or (2) you meant to say that the 2007 model will be just like the 2006 with no facelift yet till the 2008 model.

Just looking for your clarification.

Tell him that you'll wait & order it if a guaranteed membership for a Titanium Amex will be part of the deal. So, you know, it'd match :-D

No, I'm not kidding. There will be no 2007 model year Cayenne. MY2006 production will be extended through the end of 2006 to keep product in the showrooms while they convert the line to the face lifted MY2008 Cayenne which should hit the showrooms about this time next year. the models and options available for production from now through the end of the MY2006 production run will be very limited.

My salesman has no reason to lie. He's been with the dealership for almost 20 years and is the dealer liaison to the local PCA. He is very reliable.

Well, I hate to say it, he IS lying. There isn't a single auto manufacturer stupid enough to sell a "2006" car in the 2007. That makes ZERO business sense and could criple profits. Think about it....would you buy a "new" 2006 in 2007 or a severly discounted "old" 2006 in 2007???

I was told the same thing. I spoke with a sales rep at my local dealer and he had just returned from a trip to Germany. He said no model year 2007 and only a special edition 2006 to carry through to the arrival of the 2008's. The 2008's should show up Spring/early summer 2007. He mentioned the same thing about limited option availability. Maybe their game plan is to offered a fairly well loaded vehicle at less than what it would cost to buy the options separately. I was in the market for a Turbo and was told that unless I wanted to step up to a Turbo S it could be a long wait if I planned on ordering one. I hunted around the country and finally found the Turbo I wanted at a midwest dealer.

I just picked my 06 CS up now. Was surprised that the NAV was dvd based. I guess I really need to read more posts around here.

I'll believe it when I see it. I can't imagine there NOT being a 2007 model. Auto makers don't skip years when there is CONSTANT production. Early release happens all the time but not at the expense of an entire model year. If there is an early release of the 2008 in early 2007 then there should be a 2007 "limited" release from Fall 2006 till the 2008 arrives not an extended 2006 model year through the following early summer 2008.

I thought it sounded crazy also, but the salesman was very sure of his facts. Everything he has told me in the past has proven to be true. It cost them a potential sale from me, so if it isn't true it he is goofy for saying it. I agree that it would seem to be a "why not?" when it comes to making a 2007, even if it is a small production. I guess we will find out in the next few months.
