Default Bluetooth car kit installation help

Can anyone tell me where to find the wires for ignition sensor and stereo mute. I am using a samsung bluetooth car kit, and it has 4 wires come out from the controller unit.

1. Power +
2. Ground -
3. Ignition sensor
4. stereo muting wire

Also where is the best place to attach the gound lead.

Thank you for your help !

I think you need to order a Becker adapter kit, a few $ to give you the connections. Try Beckers website.

My posts in this topic, starting on 05/02/04 shows the connectors and part numbers.

A cradle kit can use the Porsche antenna, with posts starting on 04/10/04.

The rear of the PCM, from mudman2, shows the connectors and this has the identification.

This post in this topic links to the Becker manual which shows the pinout on page 28.

Both the ignition sensor and power are obtained at either side fuse panel. Use a 0.250 male faston tab terminal inserted into unused fuse locations. Select one unswitched for power, select the other that is switched with ignition. There is a screw on the side kick wall, with brown wires on it that is a good ground.

I will be studying those threads and take a look at the fuse panel tonight.

Members at this forum are very helpful, I've been monitoring this forum since the 1st day I've got my CT.

Thanks a lot !

Hi Wingless,
According to the pin out diagram and the photo from mudman, on PCM unit A3 is for phone mute and A7 for ignition

Can I simply connect the 12V and ground wire from my controller box to the back of the PCM unit – socket A pin 4 and pin 8 ?

Or it is better / safer to tap into the fuse box?
I am sorry that I don’t really understand what you mean for switched and unswitched unused fuse location.
The Samsung controller unit comes with a in line fuse holder for 32V/3A fuse to be used on the 12V wire, which fuse socket will supply 12V directly from battery?

Please check my illustration and let me know if it is going to work or not. Thank you.

Yes, the connections you've shown will work. Those will involve modifications to the existing factory wiring harness. The modifications will likely be insulation displacement tap connectors.

That type of installation is not one that I would recommend. I would not alter the existing wiring, unless required for a modification. Instead, I would pull the fuse panel cover and stick a male 0.250 faston tab terminal into unused locations to get the red and yellow, unswitched and ignition switch supply voltages.

The red wire, 12V with fuse socket, would go to an always-on, unswitched supply fuse location, called permanent positive (terminal 30), in the Becker manual.

The yellow wire, ignition sensor, would go to a supply fuse location that is switched on with ignition, called switched positive (terminal 15), in the Becker manual.

Hi,
I tried this on my 03 turbo, with PCM 2.1 but no luck. The nokia car kit grounds the mute line fine, but the PCM doesn't respond at all.
I am using the correct pin (3) on connector (A).
Any ideas?
Thanks

I forgot to mention that my PCM does NOT have the phone module or phone prep (always options here in Australia).
Does this function need to "activated"?
Some of the other backer units require the phone mute to me turned on.
Cheers
