Default Wheel/Tire widths

So it seems that a lot of 22" wheels are 9.5" wide. The only correct height (28.7-29.5") tire that will fit on a 9.5" is the 265/35-22. The "very popular" 285/30-22 and 295/30-22 won't fit per mfg specs...

In 20" wheels, several mfg only offer a 20 x 8.5" model. Again, this is too narrow for the mfg specs of the OE Porsche 275/40-20 and certainly too narrow for the meaty 295/40-20.

Anyone running tires on "narrow" rims?

295/30/22 on a 10'' rim is the way to go, relax.

holy sh*t!!!

For all those who just look at the tire spec charts and backspacing data, etc...

I went to the tire store today to look at a 295-30-22... I wheel it outside and place it next to my 17's.

I was shocked, that tire is MASSIVE. Not like as in "large", no. I mean MASSIVE.
It's almost incomprehensible how it'd fit on the front and avoid hitting that bolt on the suspension arm. And how'd that THING steer?? Maybe I'll just go 265/35-22 all around, I think that 295 scares me

have you considered lowering springs? And how would you describe handling?
