Default Bluetooth??

I pulled the trigger on a Cayenne turboS. March build, April delivery
Has anyone had any success with bluetooth installation?? Parrot, etc? How does one mute the stereo with PCM??

I had the Sony Ericsson HCB 30 put in my '04 CS with PCM by a third party installer and it works reasonably well with my Motorola Razr - which I leave in my pocket - but there is no connection to the PCM and thus no muting.

I had first tried both the Motorola and the Parrot devices that plug into the cigarette lighter and found them just too cumbersome and clunky.

There has been some success in integrating a bluetooth system on this board. Look here for info.

You could just get the phone option for PCM 2.1 that allows you to put your sim card into the NAV system. It's expensive but it works.

Wouldn't that be rather inconvenient, if you had to switch your sim card between devices each time you got in or out of the car, or am I missing something here?

The thing I like about my Bluetooth setup is that I don't have to remember to do anything.

Which is what I am best at.

In parts of Europe you can just buy a second SIM card for your phone account.

Yes. I got it working fine. Have been using it everyday and am pleased with it. The Parrot 3100 is what I used. People I call cannot tell I am on a handsfree kit.

I agree that swapping out SIM cards is ridiculous. The Europeans have always been ahead of us relative to cell phones.

On the install, let me know if you have questions outside of my posts. I ended up opting for the all speaker install as opposed to the right front only as it just sounded better to me.

Do you have pics of your install? Please send any details you have. Thanks

TestnDoc - how did you mount the LCD screen/control box? Were you able to find a nice place to hide it?
