The kit replaces bolts and the retaining springs, none of which need to be done this early in life unless your really careless removing them.

Mumman2 do you think you can replace the front pads and rotors and be able to re-use the sensors. Mine have not gone off yet so I don't see the point of replacing them.
Also, Did you replace the Brake Rotor Screw as suggested by the service manual? None of the dealers have them in stock, which leads me to believe that they are not replacing them.

No the sensors have been exposed to the elements and heat cycling, they break as you remove them. I do not replace the rotor screw, locktite it back in.

Thanks mudman. I will pick up some sensors from the dealer then and loctite the screw.

BTW this is for a V8 Touareg, but from looking at the Cayenne S we have they are the same brakes.

In the process of the brake install right now and have a few questions. I am using the aftermarket parts from Alretta and they all fit perfect so far. The directions from here have really helped me out. Thanks
What did you use for the torque specs on the bolts? I tried to convert from the bently manual for my wrench.
Hex screw holding on rotor= 270nm= 135 lbs.
Two bolts holding on Caliper= Can't find info on this one???
Bolt holding on pads and spring= 30 nm = 15 lbs.
How do I seat/break-in the new pads? Anything specific you do?
I tried my best to save the sensors but it was impossible. I am glad I had new ones on hand.

270 Nm = 199 Lb-Ft
30 Nm = 22 Lb-Ft

Thanks for all the help, after I read the threads I went out a changed my pads this morning.
I just have one question, My Brake Pad Workshop is still on. Do I need to go the my dealer to have them reset it? Or should It go off on its own?

You can see on one of the pictures, there is wood on top of the stand you can see. There is a structural subframe which looks the natural place to put them. I never do anything like this without them.

I ordered all the parts including all replacement hardware and sensors and I am about to begin this project and had one question....sorry for the newbie questions, but this will be my first Porsche brake job.
Do you do anything to prepare the rotors? Scuff them up at all? Or just spray them good with Brake cleaner after they are mounted? I just got the OE Rotors nothing fancy for right now. Any other tips or tricks for a successful brake job?
Otherwise, I have everything I need and excited to not be paying the stealer to do such an easy job!

Just clean the new rotors with Brake Clean. But since you a re changing the rotors, the job will be a little more tough than just pads, which is extremely simple. Do you need new rotors, how many miles do you have?

I did the front brakes (pads and rotors) this afternoon with a friend, and your post was a great help to go this way. (2006 "S" Titanium edition, 44'400 miles.)
Before doing the job, I did a power wash, (after a shower with "wheel cleaner"), to remove as much as possible the brake dust.
Note that I also bought (at Sunset) beside the new contact, the springs, the pin & screw as well as new mission critical screws for the rotors.
I should say that it was a fairly easy job.
