Default TDI

I too was looking for the TDI when I bought my CS. Something about the 500+ lb/ft appealed to me.

The local VW dealer had one unit in stock, but, with all the crap they tacked onto the price, it was stickered for over 80K. (by crap, I mean chrome wheels, chrome brush guards, special mudflaps, step sides, window tinting, paint protection package, underbody sealant, "market adjustment", etc. basically anything they could 'add' to the price with, they did).

I couldn't justify spending 20K more for the VW than the Porsche, especially when I factored in the service departments.

I'm hoping that as my warranty expiration approaches on the CS, the TDI T-Reg will be back in stock (and not just the isolated bling-ed out unit to choose from).

I think you have it all wrong. Socialism would allow all of the people to use all of the lanes, leading to social anarchy.

Instead we have a system where the privileged upper middle class, who can afford new Priuses, exercise their God-given right to drive 75 mph in the carpool lane while the poor huddled masses sit in traffic ten feet away in their mid-90's Oldsmobiles (and 2004 Cayennes).

Time is money and money buys time. Capitalism at its best.

How much tax deduction do you get the first year?

Also youre not gonna like the carpool lane stickers,LOL theyre huge
2 on the left/right bumper, one on the rear
Agree with you on the stickers but then again the Prius kind of looks like a cockroach so I'm not worried about ruining its appearance. The tax deduction is $2000.

The Phaeton....wait, give me a minute.
Now I remember...the $80K Volkswagen (one of the nicest interiors I've seen outside of the Maybach) that's sitting on my dealer's lot.....$40K and it's yours.
Great marketing.
Have an $80K VW owner waiting in line for service with someone with 6 color hair and a 1/4-20 bolt thru their lip complaining about their VW Beetle.....brilliant!

I never got the Phaeton, looked like an organized plan to LOSE $$$ on purpose to me.

Default Civic Hybrid

I too use my 2005 Civic Hybrid as a almost daily driver for the carpool lane access. I chose it over the Prius for its better looks and "fun to drive" factor. I just love blowing by all the nice cars in L.A. while I'm in the carpool lane. It's no fun driving a fast car when your stuck in traffic.
