Don't open the rear hatch
I've had the rear hatch switch replaced twice per the TSB's. Apparently, there's another to be had. I made the mistake of opening the hatch over the weekend, had a heck of a time getting it closed again. Unfortunately, I had stuff in the back, and I was carrying the bimini top to my boat on the roof rack, so I couldn't use the whole door, just the pop-up. I doubt I'll ever have full confidence in the latch mechanism.

Fear not, as the latest (3rd revision) rear window microswitch TSB replaces the 2nd revision of the rear microswitch with the EXACT SAME P/N as was used in the 2nd!

Don't be suprised, the numbering system has a date content seperate from the main 955 etc. Example: transmission control unit model yr 05 has 4 perhaps even 5 variants with one part number.

Yes, that was my initial thought.
However, after examining the 2nd and 3rd revision rear window microswitch assemblies called out in the TSB, myself, the service manager and the parts manager all agreed....it's the same exact part.
Apparently, rather than deploy a modified design (re: more $$ to spend for PCNA/PAG), just install the same part, just new.
Think of your rear window microswitch as a consumable, just like rotors, pads, oil, filter. After a while, dont' install a redesigned part, just install a new part identical to the 'worn out one'.
That's your Porsche Cayenne bedtime story for the night.....

emergency fix for rear hatch
if you are stuck somewhere, and the hatch wont close (as happened to me recently), here is the emergency trick. pop the plastic cover off the window, and disconnect the power lead. it comes off really easy, and stops you being stranded. the dealer can then sort it out!!

Leaving it alone doesn't mean it won't break or isn't already broken.
Ah, yes, the good old days.

I recently opened mine for the first time and now it rattles. The dealer claims to have fixed the rattle but it still rattles I had a hard time closing it too, I thought it was just me doing it wrong. If I did it too hard it would bounce and too light it wouldnt be closed.
