Best 20 Inch Tires
Hey Guys......I'm new to the forum but I have had a Cayenne V6 for 6 months now and have already driven 16k miles (reason for the V6 - 20.5 average miles per gallon so far)........so my tires are done. Any advice on tires? I want a tire that will last and will be ok offroad (weekend fun in N. Carolina). Thanks.
I have gotten a ton of tips from here since I bought the car!!!!!!!!

Offroad may want to stick with 18's , but if you saw the link from 1988carrera, they took the cayenne offroad using 20 inch wheels
I think you should either stay with 18 with continental 4X4 or 20 inch sport technos with pirelli scorpion or the diamaris good luck.
here's the link from 1988 carrera's post

Michelin makes a great tire. I had 20-inch Michelin Diamaris on my X5 (275/40 front, 315/35 rear). Handling and traction were great, but they were LOUD after about 8-10K miles...Windows up, the noise was not too bad, but windows down, they were so loud that my X5 sounded a bit like a jacked up Jeep Wrangler with mud tires while tooling down the freeway.
That said, there are not a lot of options out there for 20-inch tires. Best bet is to check out www.tirerack.com, plug in your tire size, and look for testimonials from other Cayenne owners who've bought a certain type of tire. I think one of the Pirelli models was fairly well received by Cayenne owners...
Good Luck...

Thanks for the insight guys.......any opinions on the Conti 4x4.......I guess my biggest question is will they last. I drive minimum 100 miles a day so I need something that can get some use befors they go.

The conti 4X4 is known for vibration if you search this thread and wear, I never used those tires for my 18 and 20's i used yokohama(winter) and diamaris(Summer). But then again not all people here have the vibration issues. Also I will not use 20 if I;m going off road, I'll just buy an 18 inch winter tires that are capable of both snow and off road. Then put dedicated 20's for summer.

I've had really good luck with the Hankook Ventus ST. I got over 20K miles on my 04 CTT before I sold it. They are a summer only and I like the directional tread and no vibration issues. I liked these tires so much I got a set for my 05 CTT as well. One of my neighbors bought my 04 and he now has over 30K with the Hankooks.
Oh ya, the price is right too compared to the Diamari's.

The ride quality is great and have not noticed any noise issues. My Hankooks are mounted on a set of 20" Gemballa Racing wheels.

Hello
I am having all seasons Michelin tiers on my cayenne turbo and also on my Mitsubishi 4x4 pajero, but I will never buy them a gain, loud noise, many cracks after one year,
At the moment I will replace them with P zero Rosso from Pirelli for my cayenne

I have pirelli Pzeros..they are pretty firm feeling tires, I've had another set of pirellis pzero neros and they were the firmest tires I've ever had. I have also had great luck with the hankook ventus v12's, they will probably be my next set.
