Current/new NAV Discs
I just received my 3 new Nav discs from my dealership; however, they are dated Aug. '04, not '05. Is it true that the NEW discs are actually a year old or did my dealer just pawn-off old ones to me and tell me they are the new ones???

Navteq is the company that provides Porsche with updates to the 3 disc CD based as well as the 1 Disc DVD based nav systems. Their phone number is 1-888-462-8837.
They have not updated the CD based discs for some time now. The more people that call to inquire when a new update will be available - the quicker they may put one out. Maybe they are waiting for the '06 calender year for a "significant" update?!?
I have called every month for the past 5. The "current" version from August of '04 costs $199.00. This will at least update the people who own '02/'03 Cayennes.

Most maps avaliable on the market run a year behind, It has been that way ever sence I installed my first unit for a customer in 1996. It was a Phillips Carin system and about the size of a 13" tube tv!
