Let her cool off, and had to add a quart and a half of water. She has 26k miles, and had 20 k service earlier this year. Was 108 here today.

Anyone else had this experience? Coolant loop seems to be a closed system, and I don't have any obvious leaks under the car. Wondering if I should be worried, or just watch and see if it happens again.

 

In my experience the cars seem to use coolant. If you dont have any obvious leaks, I wouldnt worry about it.

 

I had it a couple times when it was hot and I did very fast in a curve but nothing serious as long as the temperature does not go up, you can look at your gaudge

 

I had the exact same experience but at 21k. Added coolant and was surprised that it wasn't done at the 18k service check.

 

Just to be on the safe side, I would recommend having the coolant system pressure checked. The process takes maybe five minutes and would verifiy for you the existence (or non-existence) of any leaks in the system.

 

Agree with the above. Dealer said not to worry about it and coolant level was fine
