Default Stinky A/C

My CS has developed a nasty mold stench whenever the A/C or defroster is turned on. Can anyone tell me where I should look to access the condensor? My thought is to clean it up with some disinfectant if I can get to it. Also thinking to check for clogged drain line. Anyone have this problem and discover a solt'n?

Thanks

Try running the A/C on outside air for a while.

Running your A/C on recirc all the time can cause the stink you're describing.

You probably want the evaporator... the condensor is in the front of the vehicle in front of the radiator. Anyways, you can purchase some deodorizer to spray in the the evaporator where the pollen filter sits that will help a lot.

Dealer can also spray some deodorizer into your evaporator for you... if you can wait, have them do it for you as it should be no charge.

Do you regularly run with:

a) A/C off
b) A/C ON, recirculating
c) A/C ON, fresh air outside

Thx.

I'm no expert but I have been told that the gas used in A/C systems has a 'musty & damp' smell. You might want to check you haven’t got a leak.
