Default Cell Phone on Cayenne with PCM

I've read many posts about the issues of connecting a Cell phone
on a Cayenne with PCM: the muting function seems to work, but
no easy ways to input the Audio...
Did anybody succeed to do it/ have it done?
Does it require the Telematik CU option which connect the Audio on
the fiber loop? Is it availlable in the US?
Thank you,
Jean

It's a Cayenne Turbo MY2004, with the PCM CD-Rom based.

There is no US solution to have the telephone fully integrated with the PCM. The MY 03 and MY 04 have PCM 2, MY 05 has PCM 2.1, which permits an analog telephone input to the PCM. So, in addition to the mute function, which does work on the '03 and ;04, the '05 permits the remote voice to be piped through to the right front door speaker.

For your vehicle a speaker is required to pipe the remote voice into the cabin.

For ROW vehicles Porsche has always offered a fully integrated solution for the Cayenne.

Wingless,

Thank you so much for your reply. Here are few additional questions for the MY04:

1) Will it be a solution to use the Mute signal, to mute the Speakers, and use a "Speaker Multiplexer" system (like the SonyEricsson HCE-16, or the Parrot Mute wire... for example) for few of the speakers we want to have the Phone sound coming out?

2) What about instaling the "telematik CU Telephone", which seems to be an option to put everything (Audio included) to the Fiber ring. This will have the advantage to get the User Interface to the PCM screen. Is it availlable as an add-on? I realize that the PCM will have to be make aware of it, but I guess the option should exist to do so.

BTW what is ROW vehicles?

Thanks again for your help,
Jean

1) It sounds like that would work, but I don't have any information on those devices.

2) The Euro phone module (telematik CU Telephone) works with a Euro PCM, which has on / off hook pushbuttons, instead of the ones on the US PCM. So, getting the stuff onto most is not the problem, it is not having a user interface to act on the phone stuff.

3) ROW = Rest Of World.

Thanks again Wingless.
I might try to experiment with 1), and post the result if I get somewhere.
